3D Design – Time

“Don’t watch the clock; Do what it does. Keep going.” -Unknown I see this quotes as being an important thing to remember in life. I think it’s important because a lot of people can relate to this because sometimes when you’re feeling down, you don’t feel like doing anything but you just have to keep going and not give up. “Campbell’s Soup Can” by Andy Warhol, 1964 Principles of Design: Emphasis-the first thing that catches my eye is the Campbell’s logo and the red background helps it stand out. Balance/Unity- the way the artwork is balanced is how they used the red and the white equally on both the top and bottom of the can. Movement/ Rhythm– the movement is circular on the top of the soup can. Contrast/Repetition- the neutral white and warm red are continually used throughout the design in the soup can. A History of Graphic Design

Middle Ages The Middle Ages occurred around 1550 BCE in China, Egypt, Greece and Rome. The illustrated manuscripts led to the ancient Egyptian Book of the Dead. This book was used as a manual to aid the deceased in the afterlife. This is a superb example of early graphic design. Graphic designs such as this one were made of papyrus (leaves) and parchment (animal skin).
